Orchestra of Southern Utah to Open Season
with Future Explorations at Children’s Jubilee
Written by Mary Furse
Arts and sciences come together at OSU’s Children’s Jubilee, opening up an exciting performance season full of exploration, creation, and celebration. On the afternoon of October 2, the Jubilee will offer fascinating discoveries in the arts and technology, sparking children’s imaginations in a fun, engaging setting. Take a journey with your family into past, present, and future worlds with interactive activities and displays of geology, astronomy, technology, arts, sensory wonders, virtual reality games, and more. You and your children’s minds will open to possibilities of how you can create and inspire, to make for a better future. As a highlight of this exciting event, the Orchestra will perform soundtrack cues from Back to the Future, Halo, Luigi’s Mansion, Super Smash Bros, and classical highlights from Edward Elgar’s luminous Enigma Variations. Carylee Zwang is conducting the concert.
These amazing musical creations have the power to transport the mind to imaginary realms, and imagination is vital, a skill children will take into adulthood. It’s a key to problem solving and anticipating possibilities. It plays a part in all disciplines and aspects of life. Music is a powerful catalyst for igniting the imagination, and can make learning experiences that much more memorable. So come ready to be inspired!
