Tuesday Recital Showcases Classic Romance

BRANDON BURK has over 25 years of experience as a professional actor, singer and coach. Notably, his acting credits include the Utah Shakespeare Festival, Nevada Conservatory Theatre [NCT], and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.  He holds an M.F.A. from UNLV’s Professional Actor Training Program and a B.A. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He has worked as an instructor and coach of acting, dialects/speech, and stage combat for numerous shows on the Las Vegas Strip, the NCT, the Las Vegas Academy of Performing and Visual Arts, as well as private students since 2004.  Brandon is the former Artistic Director of The Onyx Theatre and Off-Strip Productions in Las Vegas, and he currently works as a Development Associate for the Utah Shakespeare Festival.
HANNAH BRADSHAW began playing the violin at the age of six. Upon reaching fifth grade, she decided to challenge herself by learning to play the viola as well. While attending Cedar High School, she was viola section leader as well as concert master her senior year. She was selected to perform with the All-state orchestra all 4 years of high school and has received superior ratings at the state level Solo & Ensemble Festival in violin, viola, and percussion. She received superior ratings for 12 consecutive years in the Southern Utah String Festival. She was the Music Sterling Scholar at Cedar High and first runner
up in the state competition. Hannah has studied with Sara Penny, Ling Yu and Paul Abegg. She is currently a viola major at Southern Utah University.

CHRISTIAN BOHENSTENGEL serves as a piano professor at SUU and has extensive performance experience throughout America and in his native Germany.











Rebekah Hughes and Xun Sun

XUN SUN serves as Music Director and Conductor for the Orchestra of Southern Utah plus directing the SUU Orchestra as a Music Professor.  He is globally recognized for his musicianship and has guest conducted throughout China and in the Ukraine.

REBEKAH HUGHES serves as the manager of the OSU as well as teaching orchestra at the Gateway Preparatory Academy.  She studied violin at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music  in Brisbane Australia.


BONNIE NIELSON is a History Major here at SUU. She has minored in Music as well as in theatre and has loved learning that life and Music is a journey worth taking and best when shared with others. She has been performing on stage since she was 5 years old with various groups and had performing opportunities around the country. Bonnie took 1st at NATS last year and recently played Millie in CVCT's production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers as well as Mrs. Paroo in CVCT's production of The Music Man. She is married to her sweetheart of 22 years and is the mother of 4 amazing children. Bonnie believes that Music is powerful and full of moments; moments that have shaped us and changed us forever. moments, memories, emotions all deeply embedded in us and some so powerful that they bring sentiments that leak from our eyes and our souls when we are lucky enough to be moved by it. She is grateful to performing and sharing this passion with you tonight.





Emily Park Grady is a native of Queens, New York.  She received her first undergraduate degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and since Ethen has pursued studies in bassoon performance.  She holds a D.M.A. from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City.  Her principal teachers are Virginia Stitt and Lori Wike.  She has performed as principal bassoonist with the orchestra of Southern Utah, and the Southwest Symphony.
Emily currently resides in Cedar City with her husband Michael.
